About Me

Check out CCSU

I, Elijah Suarez, am a student at CCSU. I am a full time student and I also live on campus. At the moment I do not have a major yet but I am exploring different potential areas that interest me for a career like, film, criminal justice, video editing, and computer science. I am taking comm 231 because it interested me and also in order to improve my portfolio of work.

I am interested in film because as a kid I use to make short stop motion videos with my friends as a small hobby and uploaded our videos to youtube. As I continued to make more and more videos I started to enjoy making videos for a platform like youtube more and more.

I have made multiple different channels for youtube with each one having a different idea based on what I was interested in at the time. I have practiced my video editing through my experience with making videos, but I never learned how to do the very in-depth and fancy things in editing software like more experienced editors can, but I am able to most of the time get my idea done wether or not it takes a long time or it wasn’t long at all.

I am interested in criminal justice because of classes I took in high school about the criminal justice system and how it functions. I also am very interested in the criminal justice system because of crime dramas, and cop films even if they aren’t totally accurate.

In high school I took a computer science class that taught me how to create programs using java. In my computer science class my best program was a program that random created a picture that resembled a map of an island and each color on the map corresponded to a different type of land that could be found on an island. The program could create an island that had a jungle with the lake in the middle or it could create an island with a desert across the whole island, any anything in between.

Also in, high school I took a web and game design class, which was split up for each semester, that taught me how to program my own website from scratch and by the end of the class I was able to make a multiple page site where links were able to take you back and forth through out the whole site to see all the information on the site. Also, in this class I made a small game, it was only one level of a game but I made a Mario like game by the end of the semester.
